Campus placement data for the 2026 graduating batch shows a sharper-than-usual divide between top tiers and the long tail.
VIT (Vellore) crossed 10,000 placement offers from 701 companies — the fourth consecutive year above 10,000. 696 offers were marquee (₹20 LPA+), 2,292 super-dream (₹10 LPA+). The highest single package: ₹1 crore.
IIT Hyderabad completed Phase 1 with 62.42% placement rate (304 of 487 students). Average CTC crossed ₹30 LPA. AI and CS programs were the strongest at 83% placement and ₹40 LPA average. Highest international offer: ₹2.5 crore.
IIIT Lucknow led on highest CTC at ₹145 LPA, with average CTC of ₹33.71 LPA. IIIT Allahabad followed at ₹120 LPA highest and ₹33 LPA average.
LPU placed 2,236+ students at ₹10 LPA+. Top 10% averaged ₹12.2 LPA. Major recruiters: Accenture (805 offers), Capgemini (578 offers). Highest package: ₹2.5 crore.
MNNIT Allahabad reported 100% placement across all programs.
What the numbers say honestly: at top-tier institutes, the AI specialisation premium is now the dominant signal — average packages in AI/CS programs run 30–40% above other engineering branches. At Tier-2 and Tier-3 colleges, IT services (Accenture, Capgemini, TCS) remain the volume backbone.
